Hotel Central: Hof (2026)
What a great find this hotel is and we’d again stay here if we were going east as it’s in what looks to be a lovely town of Hof which is in the very East of Germany. W only had a one night stay here after riding in some very extreme rain on our way from Austria to Poland but it turned out to be a great shout. The hotel from the outside is very nice to look at with a modern classy style with plenty of glass. On site parking is available however is not secured or covered however we parked around the side of the Hotel so our bikes couldn’t be seen from the road. The reception area is on a two level set up with some comfy looking seats and then a few steps up to the reception desk where we were met by a very helpful lovely lady. We were given rooms on the first floor and there is a lift (if smallish) if you have loads of gear. The rooms were very smart ( pine theme), we had a family room for the extra space and it was massive with a minifridge/bar ( chargeable) kettle and everything else we needed. The on suite was large enough for us and nicely done although we have had better with the shower being good but not outstanding. The beds were extremely comfortable so we soon drifted off to la la land, this was after though we ate in the on site restaurant which we have to say the food was superb. There are also various outdoor seating areas which if you get good weather would be a great place to sit and chat the evening away with a beer and friends. This hotel has a four star rating and we can see why, the rooms are very much of the design you’d expect for this area and it is a very very nice place to stay.

Hampton By Hilton: Dusseldorf (2026)
This hotel turned into a massive disappointment for our trip, to start with a change in our circumstances meant we were only going to stay for one night rather than the original two, however it was a good job in the end after a terrible nights sleep. We were still charged the fee for the first night as apparently this is in their small print with it being so close to our arrival. So why the bad press for this hotel, firstly is the parking one of the main reasons we originally booked here is it shows a covered and semi secure carpark and we even wrote to them to check that we could have access to it for our bikes. However when we arrived it turned into a bit of a fiasco as the manager originally agreed that we could park our bikes out the front of the hotel then having secured them changed her mind stating that we might get a 250 euro ticket for each bike. They then suggested the carpark or a cycle room in the front of the carpark which was a standard size door , not looked and clearly had someone sleeping in there, the carpark itself has a big sign saying no trailers , no lorries and no motorbikes even though the hotel has designated spaces, so they then said it would be ok to park our bikes in the cycle rack to the side of the hotel which we did and that was all good. In the morning we came out to find a few cars parked in the road which made the whole ticket thing sound like BS!
The double bed was on the small side and we would say was a Queen double and not full size and as we are on the bigger size made it a squeeze. While the shower was good the set up meant it pretty much soaked the bathroom floor within minutes, the room did however have air con and tea making facilities however the milk was out of date and we needed to ask for fresh. All this and then the hotel is right by a train track and they were doing some sort of maintenance throughout the night which meant all in all we got very little sleep. Plus points there weren’t many, the breakfast was decent and the room size was ok but other than that there wasn’t much else.

Cons – No bottled water in room, Near railway line so noisy, Issues with parking motorbikes as hotel has designated spaces in the multistorey next door but it states no bikes and they want 25 euro’s per night.

Infinity Hotel & Conference Resort: Munich (2026)
This hotel is very nice and although we only stayed for a night it would definitely be a hotel we would use again, tucked out the way it was perfect for us. Turning in off the road there is a U shaped drop off area where taxi’s etc pick up and drop off and it gives the Hotel a real sense of occasion as it wraps itself around this area. Walk into the reception and again it has the air of quality which in all honesty is a theme throughout. The rooms were spacious and very nicely done with a lovely on suite bathroom, the bar area is really classy and centralised with plenty of seating. We ate in a small restaurant area off the bar area and the food and service again was very good. Then add in a great Pool /Spa/Sauna area and add in the hotel has it’s own parking which is not secured by gates but apparently patrolled by security guards ( even the bar had a security guard located near to where you walk in) this hotel really does just about have it all.

Cons – Carpark is not covered and that really is it

Apparthotel Pension Ammertaler Hof: Altenau (2025)
This truly turned into one of the strangest places we have ever stayed. We always knew it was different, that’s why we booked it, I mean how many hotels can you specify your room being a boat and from the photos it all looks to be good however on our arrival it wasn’t exactly as we expected. Although the rooms are clean and have clearly been modernised the rest of the hotel is showing signs of age and under investment. We booked this hotel purely for the boat however we were then told they’d given this to someone else ( no prior warning) The restaurant area was closed and we were told if we wanted any breakfast to go to a nearby hotel, our evening meal consisted of a pizza delivery, however then we found that people were staying in the hotel, long term , and they made their own food etc, so more like a hostel/lodgings. This is a family run Hotel and sadly although both very pleasant they are clearly going through some personal issues between each other. To add to the strangeness of it all on the top floor of the hotel we found a climbing room with rock walls etc.
Pro’s – Quirky
Cons- No food and not really close to anywhere to get much. More of a Hostel than a hotel

B&B Hotel: Koblenz City (2025)
As with any B&B hotel we’ve found they aren’t flash but they are exactly what you need for a short nights stay while on your travels. Rooms were comfortable with a nice on-suite and they do a good breakfast. This particular didn’t have secure parking although the parking was sheltered from the weather and discreet so no one would know our bikes were there without going to look. Due to the weather we ended up ordering in takeaway rather than the 10 min walk into town as other than our bike jackets we had nothing with us to stop us getting soaked

B&B Hotel: Konstanz (2024)
Great hotel for an overnight stop close to the lake, clean and comfortable we’ve stayed in various B&B hotels and they offer decent value for money, not as cheap as say the Formula1’s you find across France but the beauty of these is you get an on-suite as well as a decent breakfast. One down side with this particular hotel as there’s not really anywhere to eat nearby without a walk but the staff were super helpful and organised a pizza delivery so for us it wasn’t an issue.
Pro’s – Underground Carpark, Powerful shower , decent size room with comfy single beds
Cons – Nothing much within walking distance

Hotel Adler: Freudenstadt (2024 – 2026)
Absolutely brilliant hotel , we arrived after a relatively short day in mileage but also some of the worst conditions we’d ever ridden in. The staff were very welcoming, the room is brilliant and big with a superb shower. There’s a lounge on the third floor for both non & smokers and here you can get beers and wine etc and its done on an honestly basis. There’s a private carpark although this is on a first come first serve basis and is not secured. Overall we really liked this Hotel and would have given it higher scores if the car park was secure and there was tea making facilities in the room.

The Park Inn by Radisson: Berlin (2026)
We originally booked this hotel for a trip in 2022 but due to the Russian invasion of the Ukraine we were concerned about traveling into Poland so our plans were changed. Roll on 4 years and here we are in 2026, the war ( or if you’re Russian- the special operation) is still on going but the thought that the impact of Poland has lessened so we ventured into Zary and then had 3 nights iat this hotel on our way home to see the sights of WW2 and the remains of the cold war.
The hotel itself is very nice and is situated in the heart of the city, we booked a sky suite which is a great toom on the 37 floor so the views are to die for being in almost touching distance of the tower and walking distance to some of the main tourist points. As we are in the sky suite only guests to this level can come up to this floor and it has its own breakfast area where you can get teas and coffees at anytime of day. The bed is comfy and the sofa turns into a bed also which isn’t to bad (if very creaky), there are 2 TV’s which you can view either from the sofa or bad dual sinks in the on suite and a really nice shower however be warned you need to be comfortable with whoever you are in the room with as the shower has a glass door and a window looking into it straight from the bed ( a little bit strange to be honest). Other good things about the hotel is there is a secure carpark joined to the hotel and it had like a lockable area which they allowed us to put our bikes in so they were totally secure. There’s a spa and gym area however unlike the other Radisson in Berlin it doesn’t have a pool, on site restaurant and a really nice bar area, there is also a chargeable mini bar in the room with a selection of drinks and snacks if you fancy it at approx 3.50 euro’s per item. The roof top area when we were there was closed due to high winds and like the spa is chargeable which we felt was not acceptable for how much we had paid for 3 night stay

Hotel Am Tiller: Saarbruken (2019 & 2020)
This is a hotel we stayed at in 2019 and liked it so much we are using it again for our trip in 2020, this time staying for two nights. Modern and clean the staff were really helpful even when we turned up late into the evening. The food is good and the breakfast in particular is excellent. There’s a bar as well as other amenities including a pool, sauna. There is carparking and although not secure is under cover and not insight of the road so it felt safe to leave our bikes in. The hotel was easy to find and is well situated. We would rate this Hotel 9 out of 10 and is a great stop over hotel or place to use as a base to explore this area of Germany.
Pro’s – The artwork, staff are very friendly, clean and modern, like it so much we’ve stayed here twice using it as a stopover on the way back

Hotel Garni Reis: Treis-Karden (2014)
The team stopped here for a two night stop on their way to the Hartz mountains. Quiet and peaceful the guest house is set just a few metre’s away from the river. The hotel was fitted how to a high standard and was well maintained. The area and town appears lovely with a number of bars and restaurants to while away the hours lovely’ The breakfast is good with the dining room looking out across the road to the river that meanders through the valley. Close enough to head for Nuremberg and a few laps if you’re feeling brave it;s ideally sited to explore this brilliant area of Germany

Sliders Guest House: Dollendorf (2014)
Sliders guest house was a great overnight stop for the crew while in Germany, run at the time by British owners who were bikers and who knew what a biker on tour is looking for, secure parking, hot shower, comfortable bed, some good food with a beer. A great place to stay we weren’t there long enough to see what the town was like or the surrounding area however impressions were good and this maybe a reason to go back and explore.

Zum Goldenen Fasschen: Daun (2013)
South -East of Mulhouse sits the small town of Daun, Set in the beautiful German countryside approx 1hr’s ride from the Nürburgring is the Zum Goldenen Fasschen guest house . Ideally set up for bikers of any type and description. The area is fantastic for the smooth tarmac, sweeping bends that you come to expect when riding in Germany. The Guest House itself was comfortable and the staff very friendly ( as some of the crews headaches the next morning would verify) A great place to stay for an overnight or longer if you wanted to explore this area and it even has secure bike parking

Sacha’s Kachelofen: Obersdorf (2017)
Sat of the German/Austrian border high up in the Alps is the town of Obersdorf. This quite little town is ideal place to explore this region and the crew stayed at Sacha’s Kachelofen. This hotel was typical for the area with alot of wood used in the interior, the town itself was very quiet when we stayed there with only an Irish bar open after about 10pm. Highlight of the town is the cable car and the two massive ski jumps which are used in the major ski jumping events you’ll see on your TV on a Sunday night
Pro’s – Clean , friendly, good breakfast, beautiful views, cable car
Cons – The town was extremely quiet when we were there (granted it was a Sunday), weather when we stayed was poor which was in early July

Hotel Pension Haus Roseneck: Baden Baden (2014)
We stayed here in June/July 2014 when it was owned by Greg and his wife (both English). It was a fantastic base to ride the biking roads of the Hartz mountains. Excellent area for a bike holiday with great roads, the only disappointment for us was the weather when we were there which was wet. This hotel/B&B was clean and comfortable and had secure bike parking. Since we stayed it has changed hands however it still receives strong reviews
Pro’s – when we stayed it was owned by a lovely English couple, Greg knows the area so well and will happily give you tours through the brilliant black Forrest area
Cons – The weather when we were there was very wet. Some of the roads aren’t for the faint hearted
